The One Thousand Project represents what is possible when we move beyond our fields of vision as artists and performers. It is where we arrive when we move out into the space beyond our own voices, and our own bodies. It is the ever-shifting, molten ephemera of the space between. It is good to be here.

Perhaps Madi’s work is so vice grip because it caught me off guard like Alexander burning
down Persepolis or moreso like a feminist axe to the patriarchy. It hits you like a
thunderstorm during a midday walk. She doesn’t just serve you poetry. She chews it up like
cheese grits and regurgitates it down your throat.
